PAkS – Parti Anti-konsert Se-Malaysia

I am just aghast. No. Correction. I am just pissed off.

Is there nothing else that PAS Youth do other than objecting against concerts? What is PAS Youth’s take on our ballooning national debts? What does PAS Youth think of the Euro-zone problems and its potential impact on global economy in general and on Malaysia, in particular?

Elton John is coming to Malaysia. As he is apparently gay, PAS Youth thinks that his concert is “incompatible” with Malaysian culture.

Pahang PAS Youth chairman Shahril Azman Abdul Halim was quoted by the Malaysian Insider as saying:

The authorities are aware that hedonism or excessive entertainment akin to poison is spreading fast among Muslim youths “……..“It is this culture that brings the downfall of morality in a society and encourage activities such as promiscuity drinking fornication and also cause them to neglect their religious duties.”

Going to a concert is a hedonistic act? And it causes a “downfall of morality.” Ah, of course, going to a concert also causes promiscuity, drinking and fornication. What else is new?

I suppose the father who raped his 2 month old baby son is an avid concert goer. And all those kids in Kelantan who fornicate are also avid concert goer. And those young girls who kill their babies are also avid concert goers too I suppose. And half of the male population in Malaysia would turn gay and start ramming each other’s ass once Elton John touches down at KLIA.

I am sorry, but will Elton John sing on stage or perform a homosexual intercourse act on stage and ask concert-goers to join him while in Malaysia?

I remember the day Michael Jackson came to Malaysia. Boy, after the concert, all of us were holding our crotch on the streets!

What I really hate about some people, politicians and political parties is their self-righteousness and holier-than-thou attitude.

You have your values and others have theirs. I have mine as well. Can you all just please respect me and my personal space please? Why must you try to impose your values on me and others? Have I tried to impose my values on you?

Oh, there was this guy on twitter who ventured to ask me why I am supporting homosexuality. I suppose when one is blinkered one would be justified to be stupid eh? The point is the concert, not the homosexuality, get it?

There are hundreds of stateless street kids around Chow Kit area in KL. The 10 year old sister will be taking care of the 5 year old brother while their mother is earning some money with a customer in a small room somewhere near. And all of us live in complete apathy to their problem. And their problem is basic, real basic.

PAS Youth. That is hedonistic. What are you all doing about it?

I just wish all this mullahism crap would disappear from Malaysia and her political landscape. I suppose UiTM would get a Nobel peace prize first before that happens.

I noticed PAS since my uni years 16 years ago are very fond of objecting to concerts. I remembered once they even picket against M.Nasir unplugged concert..

Very rarely however do they champion women rights or children rights etc

Another thing, they only dare to act against another Malay.. like for instance Hantu Bonceng - Ahmad Idham.. yet kept quiet when Namewee insults Muslims, Malays, Malaysia..

Totally no balls lah this PAS..

It is rather pathetic. If PAS infidels do not want to see the concert, then don't tell others not to.

Who are they to dictate what's good or bad entertainment? Just like TV channels, if they don't like what is screened, burn your TV set, not your neighbour's.

And mind you, no one bothers about how these mullahs dress. Even if they wear road safety cones on their head to replace the old turbans, no one can stop them.

So, if you preach democracy, parctice what you preach, dear faggots.

A GOOD MAN DOES NOTHING.

Art, why are you writing in a language that PAS Youth does not understand?

"holier-than-thou"... bingo!
should let ppl decide their own. it is of no need to tell others what to do, what is bad or good. they have brains to think too. as ppl use to say, kalau tak suka, tak payah pi jenguk. takdo siapa yang paksa you pergi.

I really don't understand why such a big hooha over a concert, especially so when the concert's target audience is geared towards the baby boomers or people around that "era"....

Anonymous said...

respect other people right to voice out anything even though it is stupid

It's not the concert, it's the lifestyle they are against. Your piece reflects your holier than thou attitude, Art.

PAS, with its hard-line and hard-headed way of doing things, evidently thinks that whatever it interprets as Islamic teachings is licence enough for it to impose on all Malaysians when it comes to matters like Elton John.

A major and worrying point when it comes to a Pakatan government in Putrajaya.

But BN is hardly better when it comes to policies affecting the rakyat.

There have also been statements in the past from assorted government ministers and such that any artiste tainted by drug taking would not be allowed to be featured on local TV and radio.

There is at least one talented singer who has been convicted on drug charges more than once, and yet, still on TV and radio.

Giving the govt ministers the maximum benefit of the doubt, their policy statements are probably on the basis of shielding Malaysians from being attracted to drug taking. But when it comes to implimentation, double standards lah.

Heck, Malaysia claims to mainatin a nuclear weapons free zone in its territory. But when a US carrier docked at Port Klang for a goodwill visit, what are the chances that the carrier is nuclear weapons free? Would the weapons which I think may normally be one board have been off-loaded before entry into Malaysian waters? Cakap sja ke?

You expect PAS Youth to be interested in economic issues? More so, global economic issues?

That requires intellectual capital.

We just hope that they don't form vigilante moral scouts to hunt down women with clothes that do not conform to their liking.

But then, isn't Saudi Arabia the same?

For Art, its not the concert that they are against to but his lifestyle or any artistes. And for the first Anon, can you tell me the benefits of having cinema. when you build and launch a cinema, dating couples are among their loyal buyers and dont tell me you dont what they are doing in it. Yes, mngkin tak ramai tapi cases tu ada. Zina bermula dari sekecil kecil hal.

And just on M'kini:

Ridhuan Tee: Hudud has to be implemented 'by force'
http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/179639

That holier-than-thou Ridhuan Tee Abdullah said:

"To implement Islamic law and to educate non-Muslims (on Islam) can only be done by force."

Oh wow... shall I now go and grovel at his pious feet?

Good one Art.
Actually, I think they blanket the problem all rounder. I also think that they are portraying extremism value over here. For them, maybe this is the way they think that would seal them as champion of Islam and of course win the heart of those who would vote to heaven.

This is a paradox. In Pas home- state k'tan, there's no pub, disco, cinema culture but the sex-related disease/drug related crime are one of the highest..how to explain???

Anonymous @ 25 October 2011 18:27:

You start by demanding the benefits of cinema. Know that it is the forbidden (and not the unforbidden) that are finite and enumerated explicitly with excruciating reasoning. The diametric opposite is oppression. Demanding to know the benefits of an X that you wish to execrate is a weasel's way of shifting the burden of proof.

That said, you do proceed to argue against cinemas as places of illicit lovemaking tantamount to adultery/zina. Cinemas are not brothels. That a minor proportion of its patrons perverts its proper function only raises the question whether you've thought about addressing the perversion directly and why you so reach so eagerly for the sledgehammer by denying the cinema recklessly in toto. Know also that the forbidden are not only finite but also that the list is kept to a bare minimum. (I do hope you know your own religion?)

You may in due course challenge the basis of the axioms I've laid out. I claim these axioms self-evident in any systems based on rule of law, of which syari'ah is one. Islam in particular has flourished both during and after the time of the prophet precisely because of strict adherence to these axioms, meta-laws if you prefer. A moment's reflection should reveal why: they are the most natural way of protecting the glory of God in the infinite creativity of His creation.

GO where people dont want to seek God...err.. at concert venues?

He going to perform in Singapore, do you think after that, Singapore will become a hedonistic city. For those who argue against cinema, here some food for thoughts. There are also many cinemas in the Arab world, have Cairo, Tunis,Casablanca etc acquire hedonistic character??.No rite. Also check out indonesia

Art, your views are generally reasonable but some of the comments failed to understand the real issues. PAS youth statement is probably a fraction of what it should be. As a muslim, one should look at the Quran and understand the message as a whole. One can not just take a verse out of the whole book and intetpret the meaning based on the verse alone without taking the real context. It is the same when one talks about our constitution. It has to be contextual. If one were to drum up the freedom of one's right then one also have to drum up the other matters in the federal constitution like the position of Islam, Bahasa Melayu etc. The moment a person takes a severed hand or leg and say that is a person rather than a part of a person, then would the person not be considered crazy?

Dear Anon @ 26 October 2011 16:14,

Thanks for your reminder. Er...what exactly do you think I wish for? And how exactly do you know that I would get or not get what I wish for?

At 300 bucks a pop, there are very few people (especially incestuous baby-killers) who are going to be in the room long enough to turn homosexual. Also, homosexuality is a rather mild sin compared to the other goings-on.

Word of advice to members of PAS Youth. Get a TV. It'll take your mind of sex, sexuality and other people's business.

Dont go far, check the background of our own local artists and singers. Do they promote hedonism!!!huh. I dont think so!..all the argument about lifestyle just dont hold water. If you think concert is bad, go into internet, you get all kind of porn, do you think we should also ban internet??

Anonymous said...

Hahahhahaha.. harun!

Know what? I am non religious.. but even me, did not even know about the date, the place of that event!!!!

and furthermore the concert is.. for your information for the non malay!!! it is in GENTING!!! attended by 80% NON MALAY! what does PAS business with the non-muslim affair?

He is Chinese descendant, a convert Muslim, to be specific , a Chinese muslim. I guess he wants to change his race to Malay. He wants to be Malay in Malaysia, he knows malaysia can granted him a Malay race. He knows he can not compete with Malaysia Chinese with the same academic qualification, Malay race is a platform. He must criticize Chinese community to please someone.

Are they out of their mind? This double standard morality. What is wrong with homosexuality? I am sick and tired of these hypocrites walking around doing nothing better than criticising other people. Why don't they do charity work, help homeless people, repair orphanage rather than wasting their time thinking over banning concerts and sitting on their asses in the mosque? What a bunch of jerks!
